India and USA joins hands : ISS collaboration

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) announced in a historic statement that they will be working together to deploy Indian astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS). This collaborative effort ushers in a new age of international space exploration cooperation and marks a significant advancement for India’s human space travel program.

Axiom Space Inc. and the Human Space Flight Centre (HSFC) of ISRO have signed a Space Flight Agreement, allowing two Indian astronauts known as Gaganyatris to take off on this mission. Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair will be the backup astronaut, while Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla will be the primary astronaut.

Scheduled in 2025, Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4) is a private space mission to the International Space Station. Utilising a SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft, Axiom Space will conduct the 14-day mission. This mission represents a substantial accomplishment for private spaceflight schedules

The first week of August 2024 will mark the start of the Gaganyatris’ intense training. To make sure they are prepared for their stay on the ISS, they will conduct in-depth scientific research, technology demonstrations, and space outreach initiatives. as well as a turning point for India.
